Owing to extension of the tenure of lockdown, the last date for
collecting contributions as circulated earlier by ABUTA to combat
COVID-19 has been extended to July 31, 2020 from June 15, 2020.

A Fight Against the National Disaster Caused by COVID-19:
ABUTA has decided to raise a fund for this purpose. The collected fund will be
transferred to the West Bengal "Chief Minister Relief
Fund". Those who like to donate towards this cause can deposit/transfer the sum of their
contributions to the Bank A/C of the Association.

1) immediate implementation of 7th pay-revision with UGC guidelines, and
2) rejection of undemocratic and Anti-people Education act
on 2017 and 2019 by State and Central Governments.

ABUTA JU Local Chapter wishes to request the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Jadavpur University
to conduct a software audit for JUMS by a competent software audit firm before its official
implementation for managing academic and related activities of the University.
May 3, 2019:
ABUTA JU Local Chapter strongly opposes
the unfair practices and tricks adopted by RUSA 2.0
keeping the Honourable Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University in dark. It will
downgrade academic principles of the university. ABUTA JU Local Chapter
requests the Honourable Vice-Chancellor to take appropriate corrective action
to protect the academic ambience of the university.

ABUTA JU Local Chapter's observations on the norms for selection of
candidates for admission:
ABUTA JU Local Chapter requests the EC to review its
resolutions as well as actions, both present and past, regarding
the issue of admission to the UG courses under the Faculty of Arts,
and to adopt appropriate corrective actions to avoid further delay
in admission process for best academic interest of the academia.

Immediate implementation of 7th pay commission as recommended by UGC, revision of
Statutes to protect the rights of elected repesentatives in different statutory committees
in the university, and well-defined pay structure for the contractual teachers.

The Executive Committee of ABUTA called a meeting on March 27, 2018 at Vidysagar
Uiversity. The EC took a resolution for related movement against the UGC Graded Autonomy
to Central and State aided universities – 2018 along with some other issues.
A deputation of ABUTA to the VC, West Bengal State University (WBSU) on March 8, 2018:
Members of ABUTA Executive Committee led by the President and the General Secretary had a
meeting with the members of ABUTA, WBSU Local chapter on March 8, 2018. Meeting discussed
some burning problems faced by the teachers of that university. After the meeting all members
met the Vice Chancellor Prof. Basab Choudhury in a deputation on those demands of the teachers.
The deputation was very effective..
Observations of ABUTA on UGC Draft Regulations, 2018 submitted on February 28, 2018:
ABUTA submmitted the feedback/comments/ suggestions on the UGC Draft Regulations
(Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and Other Academic Staff in
Universities & Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education) – 2018.
