    JU forms committee to maintain academic atmosphere in campus: Jadavpur University authorities today constituted a committee to restrict entry of outsiders and ensure academic atmosphere is maintained in the campus.
    The committee has four Deans, representatives from students unions and Registrar Pradip Ghosh, a senior university official told PTI after attending a meeting.

    Convenor of ABUTA-JU, Goutam Maity, said "The meeting decided on forming a student-teacher squad which will be moving around the campus and sensitising students for acting against any unlawful activity within the campus."

    Call for urgent meeting in JU to discuss UGC draft guidelines: The Jadavpur University unit of All Bengal University Teachers Association (ABUTA) today called an urgent meeting of the executive council and other stakeholders in view of the recent UGC draft regulations for grant of graded autonomy.
    "We demand a joint meeting be convened very soon by the executive council with all teacher associations and other stakeholders to review the Draft UGC (Categorization of Universities for Grant of Graded Autonomy) Regulations, 2017 for which comments have recently been sought by the UGC," Convenor of ABUTA in JU, Gautam Maity told PTI.

    ABUTA ceases work in JU: KOLKATA: Classes in Jadavpur University were affected on Tuesday as the local chapter of All Bengal University Teachers' Association (ABUTA) called for a cease work in protest against the state's decision to freeze reengagement of teachers post retirement. “The classes in all the four departments remained suspended on Tuesday following the protest,“ said convener of ABUTA in JU, Gautam Maity. The ABUTA members also met the officiating vice-chancellor.
